Overview & visit of SMCDA

Sindh Medical College Doctors Association (Patients Welfare Society) was established in 1994, the idea behind forming this Association was to pool the skills & resources within the group to help the poor & needy patients of our society.

The concept and work was initiated as early as 1988 by the founder member Dr. Amjad Gulzar Shaikh, who after doing his Fellowship & Masters in Orthopaedic Surgery fully activated the Mission along his fellow colleagues from other disciplines of Medical Sciences

Hundreds of Free total Hip & Knee Replacement surgeries besides scores of minor surgeries have been done till date through this platform on day to day basis and even in Earthquake and calamity hit areas in 2005 & 2008 respectively. And flood affected areas in 2010. Pakistan Atomic Energy had endorsed our day & night efforts in earthquake disaster areas where we along UK surgeons team under took surgeries & provided free of cost Artificial limbs thorough our rehabilitation camps to the earthquake affectees.

We have developed a state of the Art Rehabilitation Centre in our Sheikh Fazal Ellahi hospital Chiniot (Which Forefathers of Dr. Amjad had donated this huge multi acre land to Trust for a hospital) in early sixties.

The Sindh Medical College Doctors Association Patient Welfare Society (SMCDA(PWS)) is a dedicated NGO in Pakistan, working tirelessly to improve the lives of those in need. We focus on providing essential medical services, with a particular emphasis on orthopedic care.
